Flameworking A Living
Introduction
This has been an historical time in the development of flameworking, both as an art form, and as a means of producing artistic product. Many enthusiastic young guys and gals began working and experimenting with borosilicate glass, primarily as a means of making a living.
At the same time, there was an unprecedented freedom of information in the field, with established artists teaching their techniques and ideas to the hundreds and thousands of interested students. The development of colored borosilicate glass reached a new level, as competing companies vied to produce a greater variety of colors, as well as offering frits, powders and thick rods for making larger pieces
