Sunburst Orange, 202

Glass Alchemy

  • $0.14

1/4 lb 1/2 lb 1 lb 5 lb C
Quantity in Grams:

This color is an organic orange.  Less vivid than Orange Crayon, Sunburst Orange is the perfect transition color between Rasta Gold and Orange Crayon.

Working Tip: Pre-heat in outer flame. Avoid rapid heating.

Artist Description by Mike Shelbo

A stunning and vibrant, yet very naturally toned orange, this color rounds out the warm colored crayon palette.  Sunburst has all the working characteristics that you would hope for from an opaque.  It is smooth and creamy when being melted, applied and manipulated.  There is very little tendency for sublimation at the point of separation from the rod and it handles quite well in various flame settings, including heavy reduction using propane and in different working areas of the flame.  When thinned out to less than 1mm stringer or blown out thin, the color will be a slightly translucent and opalescent finish, which lends well to the ability to use this color to mimic things found in our world of nature.  When layer of color is 3mm thick the density of the color stays true and bright.  Compliment this color with GA Agua Azul for an interesting look.
