Iris, 5194
Iris, 5194 is an opaque blue that falls between Bibidibobidiblue and Lapis in the blue/purple fade.
Working Tip: Heat slowly to raise the core temperature. Once the heat base is established, this color can be worked very hot and any air bubbles that popped during the preheat will smooth out. Getting this color white hot will cause excessive gas release that can not be repaired and should therefore be avoided.
Artist Description by Mike Shelbo
"Drop this opaque blue right in the fade with the rest of the family. It rounds out the blues so nicely as the in between of GA Bibidibobidiblue and GA Lapis. It works like the in between of them as well in the way that its level of stiffness is more than Bibidi and less than Lapis. This color works well in vac stacks and encasement in marbles. When working solid color or coiled GA Iris, then it is a good idea to work an inch or two out further in your flame than your normal working region until the color is all the way melted and smooth on both the surface and interior. Not much sublimation at the termination points, but do not intense spot heat right after termination, work the melt in slowly. GA Iris pairs well with GA Alchemy Mint and GA Double Passion." - Mike Shelbo
